What possessed 14 to sting herself in the face? Is she blind now?

Melliferian venom causes intense pain but it also causes temporary unconsciousness and paralysis. For her own reasons, being knocked out cold for a couple hours sounded like a good idea at the time, and she didn’t care enough about herself to consider the pain a problem. As for why her face, well there’s only so many places they can sting themselves what with flexibility and finding a soft spot in the armor-like exoskeleton.

She isn’t blind, but she is photophobic since the venom exposure damaged the black pigment in her eyes.
