I'm sorry if this is too late - leave it for next time if it is. Some time ago you posted about how Agents are born on your LJ, and if I remember correctly, they started out as these pill bug-shaped concentrations of almost sentient magic near various hot-spots, and then grew into an Agent if they managed to ground their sense of self (?). Did you just change the canon on how Agents are formed or were those things something else entirely? Could you elaborate? Thanks in advance

Yes, the initial body (before they achieve the necessary state of mind, which includes a sense of self as you mentioned) looks like a pillbug, that’s still true, and the whole process of them developing can still occur inside a hot spot instead of in the body of another Agent. When I posted about Agents on LJ, the way I phrased it then was more along the lines that the stable clear magic necessary to allow an Agent to spontaneously begin developing is found in hot-spots and Agent’s bodies, and mostly the latter, but the process is basically the same, I’m just hard pressed to explain it the same way twice, and I’ve expanded a little on the details of the process in the time since then.

And because I can, have a drawing of one of these larval Agents we’re talking about.
