Somewhat inspired by the reaction I got to Ruins of Melancholy.
Parker “what did I do” is not an appropriate reaction to a hug from a friend.
So everyone speculated about Parker’s reaction, but no one guessed the correct one which was “didn’t even notice for days.”

Do Parker and Eleanor have any sort of "romantic" relationship going on? I remember a sketch you did where Eleanor was leaning into kiss him.
Not really. Agents don’t really do pair bonding, so he has no framework for experiencing romance as its own discrete feeling. Additionally, for the first many years he knew her, he was passing as a stract or magiphage (people around him didn’t know what an Agent was and he never explained), which despite their intelligence, are often perceived as being kind of like children or animals, being sort of simple and innocent. Eleanor started being so affectionate with Parker partly because she simply doesn’t perceive it as having the same meaning.
But they are both very attached to each other.
Parker being one of those people who is so surprised by anyone being nice to him that it actually makes him uncomfortable.
