1: He has two beds, pushed together to make one super-long bed. It’s usually perpetually unmade and dotted with black feathers. He has trunks and suitcases from when he traveled, which he still keeps his clothes in and a shelf with some of his books. His mother’s skull is kept wrapped in a cloth under his bed. When Seekali later moves in with him, she brings in some furniture and decorative touches like a bed side table, pictures in frames, etc.,
2: Every morning Sornal gets up and does some ritual movements he was taught by his uncle, similar to stretches, and then he goes for a walk. Usually Tewarius joins him on his walk, and sometimes Seekali does.
3: His daily walk is his exercise. He also flies around aimlessly sometimes to keep his wings in shape, and flaps his wings if he has the space.
4: Sornal doesn’t really enjoy eating very much, he often thinks it’s a chore, so if anything’s in his way he’ll often just go without because it’s not worth the fuss.
5: Sornal keeps vaguely clean-ish and organized, but only in fits and starts. He tends toward neglecting his space sometimes, leaving an item in the wrong place for days before getting the motivation to put it away for example (like leaving a shirt in his bed, or bringing something into his bedroom, like a broom or plate and just letting it live in there for a few days).
19: Sornal’s precognition has a tendency to come to the forefront when he’s not actively pushing it down, so when he’s tired and trying to sleep, he’s seeing these movie reels of likely-to-happen events. He ends up having thoughts by creating false-narratives out of the disjointed, out of context moments he’s seeing, relating them in ways that are entirely related to himself and not what he’s really seeing.
20: He was frequently sick as a child, he had a weak immune system and a nausea problem that kept him from eating enough, so he was always frail. It had a huge impact on his personality, since it contributed to him not being socialized very well.
46: His ideal is someone he can be close to, which is why Seekali ended up being the one for him. He didn’t want to let go of his facade, his tendency to act all intimidating and sullen, so the only way he could have the closeness he wanted was from someone who didn’t take that stuff about him seriously to begin with.
47: He tends to be understated in his expressions of affection, sticking to things like physical closeness (standing near to someone, putting his hand on their shoulder or otherwise initiating platonic contact) and acts of thoughtfulness. He also tends to express love by what he allows - for most, they will be quickly shut down if they act too affectionate or friendly toward him. With those he loves, he allows it and responds more favorably.
What's a healing temple? How did Sornal end up being a part of one?
I used to call the hospital where Seekali worked a healing temple, then I decided hospital was better, as I moved away from thinking of it as a place with magic users doing magical healing stuff and more just a regular sort of medical operation, as I codified magic a bit more and decided potioneering was the magical art that dealt with the body and few others, which basically means that even if magic is used in the medical context, it’ll just be the same thing as regular medicine in a lot of ways, so the environment around it’s use wouldn’t be different.
Sornal was a traveling freak/holy man/psychic/etc., basically he went from town to town to be gawked at and do tricks. When he came to the town where Seekali and Tewarius lived, Tewarius sought him out to see if he could help him out the the freak show life - Tewarius has dwarfism, so he felt particularly bad for Sornal seeing him stared at for money.
It was a complex run of various events that revealed Sornal’s usefulness to the hospital, but the first catalyst that brought Sornal to the hospital was Tewarius going up to him after a show and asking if he was happy.
How did Sornal get a hold of his mother's skull?
He went back to his town and dug her body up like a creep and took it.
Sornal and Enka are half-siblings, right? What does Enka 's mother look like? What happened to her? (Or am I remembering completely wrong and they are full siblings and I will look like an idiot.)
You remember correctly, they are half-siblings. Enka’s mother looked like a rabbit (so a lot like Enka, but with a more rabbity profile and shorter muzzle). Enka’s mother was Sornal and Enka’s father’s first girlfriend (boy was that a sentence!). They mutually broke up not long after Enka was born and not long after that he married Sornal’s mother.
Nothing particularly happened to her, she still lives in the town Enka and Sornal left years ago.
