I was editing the original bee abstraction to make a queen (and I’m going to make a drone too) and then I had some fun with it.

Another bee in this more abstract style. I’m working on making a fabric pattern. Stay tuned.

Bee abstraction continues. I basically aimed to take the final level of abstraction and make it look as “friendly” looking as the first level I drew, and make the wings more accurate.

Weird personal projects are fun.

Honeybee at three different levels of abstraction.

Another tessellating pattern. Why do I do this to myself?

There are three hives represented here. The orange ones are from Amber Rust, the red ones from Blood Gold and the yellow ones from Sun Glass.

Drew these bees for the bumble blog to explain how bees fly. c=

I was thinking it’d be neat to have Melliferian’s wings have a tint to them.

11 was once one of her hive’s major thinkers, thinking was her job. Later she decided she wasn’t up to being such an important part of hive decision making, and stepped away from it. She felt guilt for the mistakes she made, and though her intelligence was never in doubt, she doubted it herself.

So she is now a forager, spending more and more time daydreaming aimlessly with no particularly mentally challenging work to focus on.

Silly 11, knowing about something and caring about it are different.
